Notice the new icon toward the bottom of the sidebar? Yep, I'm going to write a book in a month. Not a good book, probably not even a bad book (that would even be too much to aspire to inside of a month), but it will be 50,000 words. Good thing I have a nice long train ride, eh what?
So...I'm looking for a topic/subject/idea/inspiration, and I need it by November 1.
Let's hear the ideas, people.

Holy Cow -- 50,000 words in one month?! Take inspiration from Ernest Hemingway, I think it was, who always wrote in circuitous, long sentences, broken only by the occasional comma to break up the unending, winding round of adjectives he so skillfully employed to convey what he so urgently needed to share with the world, as a whole, and his limited audience, as a few who simply couldn't put down his novels to get on with their grueling, ugly, little lives. . . .
Doh! It was Bill Faulkner, not Ernie H. to whom I was referring. Came to me at 4 this morning . . .*sigh*
Another idea -- how bout picking your favorite time and place in history and writing about how your life might have been had you been born then and there. -Or- implant yourself into an historic event such as the storming of the Bastille or Hiroshima or NYC on VE Day. . . ..
Wow, excellent ideas. Ok, I'll take one of them and you do the another! I'm a real fan of the historical novel, so I like all these ideas. I'll have to stay away from the more historically accurate stories since I won't have a lot of time to do research.
