The Spitting Cobra can spit it's venom up to six feet away. You thinkin' what I'm thinkin'? Isn't enough that there are creatures with venom in the world...do they really need a 6 foot advantage?
However, it begs the question—if I don't want to touch it with a ten foot pole, I should be OK, right?

I think you're on to something here. Also stay away from baskets that hiss.
Excellent drawing. I was afraid to get close enough to see the detail, but I'm sure it's good.
When it comes to snakes, a 10' foot pole ain't long enough. It'd have to be at least 50' long for me to even THINK about touching a snake!
perhaps you should sketch rikki-tikki-tavi next? that should keep that creepy cobra in check.
